Six Flags Great Adventure will open for the 2024 season on Saturday, Mar. 16, according to a news release. The Jackson Township amusement park will kick off its 50th-anniversary celebration during the opening weekend.

The resort will be open on weekends until spring break when it'll be open daily from Thursday, Mar. 28 through Sunday, Apr. 7.

"Six Flags Great Adventure Resort remains committed to innovation and thrilling adventures, blending the present with a nod to our 50-year history," park president Brian Bacica said in a statement. "Whether it’s a guest’s first visit or their 50th, everyone, regardless of their thrill level, will discover new attractions, enhanced park features, exciting events, and nostalgic highlights within our resort destination."

The largest addition to Six Flags Great Adventure is Savannah Sunset Resort & Spa. The luxury camping experience will open on Friday, June 14.

The "glamping" resort will be in the middle of the 350-acre Six Flags Wild Safari, which is home to more than 1,200 animals. The retreat will offer 20 suites with "world-class amenities" that can house two to six people.

A stay at Savannah Sunset will include admission to all three theme parks at Six Flags Great Adventure. Savannah Sunset guests will be able to feed giraffes and daily breakfast is also included with a two-night minimum stay.

Six Flags Great Adventure will also open its 15th roller coaster called THE FLASH: Vertical Velocity. It will be North America's first triple-launch super boomerang coaster, reaching 60 miles per hour through "a 180-degree twisted drop and zero-G roll."

There will also be a special walkway to commemorate its golden anniversary. The Dream Street Pathway will allow park fans to buy an anniversary brick at the amusement park's original entrance, along with a keepsake.

The Wild Safari will open on Saturday, Mar. 30, and it'll include the new Safari Base Camp. Guests will be able to experience the immersive Safari Off Road Adventure tour outside of the theme park.

The largest investment in Six Flags Great Adventure in nearly two decades will also include remodeled stores and upgraded restaurants. The resort's toll plaza and parking areas have also been upgraded.

Hurricane Harbor will open for the season on Saturday, May 18. The water park will open up Splash Island, which is a family-friendly area with a treehouse and seven slides for kids to enjoy.

The 50th-anniversary celebration will grow between Memorial Day and Labor Day with character experiences and special entertainment throughout the park.
